Course Description

This course is an advanced-level course designed to provide the student with a conceptual understanding of how financial markets work, how they are structured, how prices and yields are determined and provide insight into the many different types of risks that exist in financial markets. This course also intends to provide a conceptual framework of why financial institutions exist and how they function with a focus on commercial banks.

  • Recognize the key characteristics of equity, fixed-income and derivatives markets.
